Amber Alert , when every second counts... Now for up to 8 children!
Good parents have an Amber Alert... Be one! FAQ: - How is the Amber Alert USB disk different from other Child ID Kits?
- Other Child ID Kits are neither as complete, nor as easy to use. All screens have Help which directly overlays your current data. This is a world's first and currently only in InfoVivo's software. No reason to leave the screen and to get lost in other Help screens. Adding photos, images, videos or audio is as easy as a click of a button, the same goes for removing them. Most items also have tooltips showing when your mouse is over them.
- I am not a technology savvy person, how easy is the Amber Alert Child ID to use?
- You do not have to be tech savvy to use the Amber Alert software. (see above) We designed it for totally easy use.
- How does law enforcement use the Amber Alert USB drive?
- When you find yourself in an emergency or investigative situation, provide the Amber Alert USB key with the password to the police. Or you can print and/or email the information to police, or you can export the information and give it to the police, keeping your USB drive in your possession without having to divulge the password. The police will then use the information for their investigation and to issue an AMBER Alert if necessary.
- What size is the Amber Alert USB key / drive?
- The USB device is only 1.1/8" long, 1/2" wide and 1/16" thick, making it very easy to attach to your key chain, or cell phone to carry with you, or keep in a safe place. It is the smallest drive in the industry, it also holds the most storage and is water resistant.
- Do I have to install any software or hardware?
- No! There is no software installation and no internet connection is required. All information is contained on the drive.
- What do I need in order to use this device or run the software?
- You will need a home computer or laptop running Microsoft Windows XP or later. To find an available USB Port on your computer, look for the USB Port symbol and insert the Amber Alert USB disk into the port , it will then autostart. If nothing happens, you plugged it in upside down...
- How many pictures can I store on the Amber Alert USB personal ID?
- The Amber Alert USB drive has a memory capacity of 2 Gigabytes, that's 2000 Megabytes (million bytes), which is sufficient enough to hold hundreds of photos and video, it all depends on the size of items you put on it...

- How often do I update my child's information on the Amber Alert Child ID USB drive?
- We recommend that you update your child's information and photo's approx. every six months. Depending on the age of child that could be every year. The best way to determine this is to look at the photos you have on the AA drive and if your child's looks changed enough to be different from them, then it's time to update.
- Besides the Amber Alert USB device, where else is my child's information stored?
- Your child's information is not stored in any other place aside from the Amber Alert itself. It is not stored on the computer that you use, nor do we have access. Your information is completely private and save.
- Can I save or back up the information on my child kit onto my personal computer?
- Yes. This is possible via exporting and saving the information, although it's not recommended, because your computer does not offer the same amount of protection as the personal Amber Alert USB drive.
- When is a Mac version coming out?
- Never. Why? Because Mac's comprise less than 4% of the computers on the market, the chance that your local police department uses them is minute. The objective is to provide the information ASAP, not to be stopped dead in the tracks because the authorities run Windows and a MAC Amber Alert drive won't work with them...(kind of defeats the purpose)
- What happens if I loose my Amber Alert USB drive or if I forget my password?
- The drive is password protected and encrypted. If you loose it there is no way anyone can access that information without a password. Also, there are no "back doors". If you forget your password, the Amber Alert will have to be replaced.
